Lieutenant Colonel Timothy S. Brady Jr.

After graduating from The College of William and Mary, in August 1998 LtCol Brady reported to The Basic School receiving the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 0302 Infantry Officer. After completing Infantry Officer’s Course, LtCol Brady reported in June 1999 to Third Battalion, First Marines in Camp Pendleton CA, and was assigned as platoon commander with Company K. There he completed one deployment with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) participating in Operations BOLD SAMARITAN and DETERMINED RESPONSE. Afterwards he was assigned the Assistant Operations Officer billet for the Battalion.

In January 2002, LtCol Brady reported to Marine Corps Security Force Company Europe in Rota, Spain. There he filled the billets of Platoon Commander, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer. During this time he executed or planned several missions supporting theater security cooperation exercises, Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM (OIF/OEF), NATO Operation ACTIVE EDEAVOR, Joint Task Force Liberia, and the Global War on Terrorism.

In January 2005, LtCol Brady was directed to report to the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Ft Benning, Georgia where he graduated on the commandant’s list. He then received follow on orders to Second Battalion, Second Marines in Camp Lejeune, NC. From June 2005 until January 2009 he completed three deployments, two to Iraq in support of OIF and one with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon return from deployment LtCol Brady was reassigned in January 2009 to the Second Marine Regiment and served as the current operations officer until he executed follow-on orders to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD for the Leadership Education and Development Program (LEAD).

During the LEAD program from May 2009 to May 2010 he attended graduate school at University of Maryland in Leadership Education and Development and received the Gannon Award for Leadership and Academic excellence. From 2010 to 2012, he then served as 1st Company Officer and 1st Battalion Executive Officer at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Following he reported to Plans, Policies, and Operations, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington D.C.  Where he served from 2012 to 2014 as the Readiness Section Head in the Operations Division. After completing his tour in the Pentagon, he reported to 31st MEU in Okinawa, Japan. There he served as Operations Officer from 2014 to 2015 and completed two deployments. LtCol Brady then received orders to assume command of Third Battalion, Third Marines in Kaneohe Bay, HI.

LtCol Brady’s degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, a Master of Professional Studies in Leadership Education and Development, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
