Sergeant Major Bradley A. Leddy
3d Reconnaissance Battalion

Bradley A. Leddy is a native of Lithia Springs, Georgia. He reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), Parris Island, South Carolina in July of 2002. After graduating Aircrew candidate School, Pensacola Florida. He attended Aircraft mechanic school, New River, North Carolina. He then completed CH-46E Crew Chief school in Camp Pendleton, California. He was then assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter (HMM) Squadron 265 located in Okinawa, Japan.


While assigned to HMM-265 he was attached to the 31ST Marine Expeditionary Unit (31ST MEU) from September of 2003 through May of 2005, during this time he was deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II. In November 2004, he served in Operation AL FAJR/PHANTOM FURY and, in January 2005, supported operations for the first Iraqi elections. In September of 2005 he attended Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course. In July of 2006 Sergeant Leddy earned the qualification of Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative.


In January 2008 Sergeant Leddy Volunteered for Drill instructor duty where he was assigned to company C, First Recruit Training Battalion, Parris Island, South Carolina. He served as a Drill Instructor, Experienced Drill Instructor, and Senior Drill Instructor. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in April of 2009, Staff Sergeant Leddy was assigned to the Martial Arts Training Section Where he served as the Operations Chief and Chief Instructor.


In May of 2011, Staff Sergeant Leddy was assigned to HMM-265 and later HMM-262. He served in billets as the Flight Line Division Chief and Squadron Enlisted Weapons and Tactics Instructor and was assigned to the 31ST MEU at both units.


In February 2014 He was assigned to HMM-268 where he served as the Enlisted Aircrew Training Manager, Operations Chief, Logistics Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC), and Administrations SNCOIC.


In March of 2015 He completed MV-22 Transition training in New River, North Carolina where he was re-designated a MV-22B mechanic and Crew Chief. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in August of 2015.


In October 2015 Gunnery Sergeant Leddy Reported to VMM-165 where he deployed twice to the special purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force, Crisis Response-Central Command, Camp Al Jaber, Kuwait. He served as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor, the Flight Line Division Chief and Squadron Gunnery Sergeant. He was Frocked to First Sergeant in May of 2019.


First Sergeant Leddy reported to 3d Battalion, 4th Marines in May of 2019 for duty as company First Sergeant, Company K. In November of 2020 He deployed in support of the 31ST MEU where he was assigned as the small boat company. In June 2021 He was then assigned to Weapons Company.


In July 2022 First Sergeant Leddy Reported to Bravo Company, 3d Reconnaissance Battalion. He was Frocked to the rank of Sergeant Major on 28 December 2022 and assumed the duties of Battalion Sergeant Major where he currently serves on 29 Dec 2022.


First Sergeant Leddy's personal Awards Include The Meritorious Service Medal, The Air Medal with Numeral “5”, The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of second award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (2 gold stars in lieu of third award).
