Master Sergeant Rick A. Keller, a native of Orlando, Florida, entered the Marine Corps in June of 2002.
Throughout his career, Master Sergeant Keller has been assigned as a Machine Gunner and Machine gun Section Leader with 3d Battalion, 2d Marines; Chief Instructor of High Risk Personnel Course, Weapons Training Battalion Quantico, VA; Scout Sniper Platoon Chief Scout, Scout Sniper Platoon Sergeant with 3d Battalion 6th Marines; SNCOIC of Scout Sniper School with School of Infantry, East; SNCOIC of Infantry Unit Leaders Course, School of Infantry, East; Combined Anti-Armor Team (CAAT) Platoon Sergeant, Company Operations Chief with 3d Battalion 7th Marines.
Prior to his current post, he served as the Battalion Assistant Operations Chief; 3d Battalion 7th Marines, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
He has deployed several times with 3d Battalion 2d Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003 to 2007; 3d Battalion 6th Marines during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010; 3d Battalion 7th Marines during Operation Inherent Resolve in 2018 and MRF-D to Darwin, Australia in 2020.
Master Sergeant Keller's personal awards include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ Combat Distinguishing Device and four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ Combat Distinguishing Device and two gold stars in lieu of third award, and the Combat Action Ribbon with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
