Sergeant Major Kissick was born on October 1, 1985, in Jacksonville, Florida. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 14 July 2004 and reported to Parris Island on 18 October 2004. Upon completion of Recruit Training, where he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class, he was assigned to Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, NC for training and graduated as a 0311 Infantry Rifleman in April 2005. He was then assigned to 2D Reconnaissance Battalion.
In February 2006, Sergeant Major Kissick was assigned to 3d Battalion 2d Marine Regiment where he served as the Battalion S-3 Training NCO, dismount for Combined Anti-Armor Team, Squad leader, and Platoon Sergeant. He was promoted to Corporal (meritoriously) and Sergeant during this tour and was deployed two times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In July 2009, Sergeant Major Kissick reported to Marine Combat Instructor School at the School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, NC. He then reported to Marine Combat Training Battalion, where he served as Squad Instructor, Platoon Commander and Chief Instructor for Company G. Additionally, he served as a platform instructor in both weapons and tactics and as a curriculum developer for the school.
In September 2012, Sergeant Major Kissick was assigned to 2d Battalion 6th Marine Regiment. During this tour he served as Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Commander, Company G and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant, while he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan in support of the Unit Deployment Program. Additionally, Sergeant Major Kissick deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Assault Platoon for Helo Company, training Turkish and Omani forces, and conducted operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq.
In July 2016, Sergeant Major Kissick reported to Marine Combat Instructor School at the School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, NC and served as Chief Instructor for Company I, Marine Combat Training Battalion. Subsequently, Sergeant Major Kissick was assigned to Advanced Infantry Training Battalion where he served as Squad Instructor, Chief Instructor, and Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge for Advanced Infantry Marine Course. During this tour he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.
During July 2019, Sergeant Major Kissick received orders to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Okinawa Japan, where he served as the Air Base Ground Defense Coordinator. Subsequently received orders to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and completed two patrols (21.1 & 21.2) as the Assistant Operations Chief, conducting operations in a myriad of training areas and countries.
In December 2021, Sergeant Major Kissick was promoted to First Sergeant and received orders to 3d Transportation Battalion, Alpha Company, as the Company First Sergeant. After redesignation of the unit, he served as Company First Sergeant for Combat Logistics Company Alpha, Combat Logistics Battalion 12.
In March 2024, Sergeant Major Kissick executed orders to Marine Air Support Squadron 2, where he served as a Company First Sergeant, Air Support Company Bravo.
In November 2024, Sergeant Major Kissick was promoted to his current rank and assigned orders to 12th Littoral Combat Team, where he currently serves as the Battalion Sergeant Major.
