Republic of Korea Marine Lt. Col. Joung Young Oh and Lt. Col. Eric A. Reid focus on building lasting, bilateral relationships during the Korean Marine Exchange Program 16-3 at Rodriguez Live Fire Complex, South Korea, Dec. 22, 2015. KMEP 16-3 is one in a series of regularly-scheduled combined, small-unit, tactical training exercises between ROK and forward deployed U.S. Marines. The relationship between ROK and U.S. Marine Corps forces encompasses the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of training. The goal of the KMEP is to enhance and improve interoperability of ROK and U.S. Marine Corps forces at the level to build warfighting capabilities as partners. Lt. Col. Reid is the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines regiment commander, currently forward deployed in the Pacific as part of 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
