CROW VALLEY, Philippines ─ U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Manuel Martinez, provides security as an MV-22B Osprey lands at Crow Valley in the Philippines in support of Air Assault Support Exercise 16.2, Aug 4, 2016. The goal of AASE 16.2 is to maintain the readiness and interoperability of the U.S. and Armed Forces of the Philippines to ensure an effective and rapid response to any contingency in the region. Martinez is an infantry squad leader assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment which is currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
