WATERS OUTSIDE OF OKINAWA, Japan (Oct. 30, 2016) An amphibious assault vehicle (AAV), assigned to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, embarks the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) during Blue Chromite 2017. Blue Chromite is a U.S.-only exercise, which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa, Japan and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
